About

I'm Taylor, a little country, a little crunchy, wife, twin mom, camping enthusiast, bubble bath lover & founder of rooted in love

Where do I begin? I have been mildly O B S E S S E D with my hair and skin for as long as I could remember. I was that friend that always had face wipes and a hairbrush in my bag, just in case I had a quick cry and needed to completely redo my makeup or it was windy and needed to brush out my tangles... You know, the essentials, the things normal people carry in their bags, right?

While my hair might have always grown like a weed, I have not always been so lucky with my skin. Acne, acne scars, and melasma have plagued me since my late teens. Even with my monthly facials and high end products, the breakouts kept coming. And it wasn't until recent years that I felt like I truly got a handle on the zit show.

Fast forward to April 2020. My husband and I were faced with the ever so dreaded words of "you have unexplained infertility, you should consider IVF". Those were words we never expected to hear, especially considering that we are both young and healthy, our tests came back normal, no underlying health issues.. Plus, our health class teacher promised us it was super easy to get pregnant (lies). But for some reason over the span of those first 12 months, it just wasn’t working and there was no true medical reason why. There was nothing for us to fix or work on, no magic cure, it wasn’t a “me” problem or a “him” problem (everyone’s favorite inappropriate question) - it was just a “we don’t know why you can’t get pregnant or keep a pregnancy”. Then shortly after our first visit with the fertility doctor that could potentially help us, covid hit and all procedures were put on pause. We could not catch a break and the heartbreak and loneliness we were feeling just amplified.

It really wasn't until that point into our journey to parenthood that I realized a few things. Firstly, infertility is freaking hard and there is not enough discussion surrounding infertility, miscarriages and the anxiety and depression that comes with it. Secondly, we really need to start paying attention to what we put in and on our bodies - the more you research, the more you’ll cringe.

Over the course of the last two years I have searched the web for everything (yes, literally everything - heavy metals, parasites, mold, vaccines, medicine and antibiotics, foods/allergies, blood types, lotions, perfume/makeup, acupuncture, ph levels, etc.) in hopes to find a fix to our fertility issues. But what I have come to terms with, is that it is probably a combination of things occurring over our lifetime. Which brings us here, to Rooted In Love: A natural and non-toxic line of products for the entire family to love & hopefully some good advice for others struggling as well.

Mother nature has blessed us with so many amazing ingredients - it's time we start learning and utilizing them, especially since our skin is a direct reflection of our inner health. My hope is to inspire you to simplify your medicine cabinet / beauty routine - Let’s grow together and help each other along the way!

xo, Taylor
